About It’s funny: humans have been growing up for a really long time, but somehow we still suck at it. Just look at sixteen-year-old Mo (Griffin Gluck). He’s bright enough and comes from a good family, yet his best friend is … Zeke (Pete Davidson). Yeah, that Zeke—the agressively unmotivated college dropout who used to date Mo’s older sister. Mo’s well-meaning dad (Jon Cryer) is less-than-thrilled by this state of affairs. His sister? Woof. So instead of spending his days readying himself for adulthood, young Mo is getting a very different sort of schooling. Zeke favors a nontraditional style with practicals in dealing, partying, and ghosting. Academia this ain’t. Working from his own sharp script, first-time director Jason Orley has created an all-too-real look at what it’s like to be a teenager these days. He’s aided by his strong cast, especially Davidson, whose loopy, boisterous performance anchors the film. The result is a coming-of-age tale that’s as fresh as a trending topic but still familiar in all the right ways. YEAR 2018 CATEGORY U. S. Dramatic Competition COUNTRY U. A. Pete Davidson is set to take over streaming services in the next few months. First, the Saturday Night Live cast member’s Netflix comedy special, Pete Davidson: Alive From New York, will premiere February 25th on the platform. Then, Davidson will appear in a supporting role in the upcoming Hulu coming-of-age film Big Time Adolescence, which released its first red band trailer on Tuesday. The movie stars Griffin Gluck as Mo, a smart yet naive 16-year-old doing his best to navigate high school under the wing of his best friend Zeke, a scuzzy college dropout played by Davidson. Things start to go awry when Zeke starts teaching Mo some inappropriate life lessons, including drug-dealing and sex tips. “You think I’m just gonna walk into a party and everyone’s gonna wanna buy pot from me? ” Mo asks Zeke when his older friend presents him with a briefcase full of weed. Zeke pauses, letting out a breath of vape smoke. “Call me crazy…” The rest of the cast includes Davidson’s pal Colson Baker, a. k. a. Machine Gun Kelly, as well as Emily Arlook, Thomas Barbusca, Oona Laurence and Sydney Sweeney. Big Time Adolescence is written and directed by Jason Orley and will open in select theaters on March 13th before premiering on Hulu on March 20th.

The more I watch Pete and get a chance to see his personality, I understand why these two are such good friends. “When you get older, you realize that’s kind of all life is: A bunch of scribbles and dicks and violence, all in a void. ” Such is the sage advice spewed by Pete Davidson in the new trailer for Hulu’s upcoming movie Big Time Adolescence, which sees the Saturday Night Live star playing a twentysomething burnout, Zeke, who guides a wide-eyed suburban teenager, Mo ( Locke & Key ‘s Griffin Gluck), through a spectacular period of youthful rebellion. The pair’s various shenanigans include selling drugs at a house party, evading the cops, and Zeke coaxing Mo into getting a “Tongue Daddy! ” tattoo across his chest (which, understandably, doesn’t go over well with the latter’s father, played by Jon Cryer). The film — which also stars Machine Gun Kelly and Sydney Sweeney — premiered to positive reviews at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, where writer-director Jason Orley competed for the festival’s Grand Jury Prize. In her review, EW’s Leah Greenblatt called the movie “a sweetly crass comedy that walks the line between John Hughes and Jackass and more often than not, deliberately fails its sobriety test. ” In addition to his work on SNL, Davidson’s big-screen profile has increased in recent years, with small roles in the Netflix comedy Set It Up and Amy Schumer’s 2015 hit Trainwreck. He can be seen later this year in Judd Apatow’s SXSW-debuting dramedy King of Staten Island and John Turturro’s Big Lebowski spin-off The Jesus Rolls. Big Time Adolescence premieres in select theaters on March 13, followed by its Hulu streaming debut on March 20. Watch the film’s full trailer above. Donna Diddadog? What were you changing your name to? I did change my name. Hulu has released the official red band trailer for Neon’s Big Time Adolescence. The feature, which stars Griffin Gluck ( Locke & Key, American Vandal) and Pete Davidson ( Saturday Night Live), originally debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019 and is finally making its way to the big green streaming platform in March. Image via Neon Written and directed by Jason Orley, Big Time Adolescence is very much a modern day coming-of-age story packed to the brim with hijinks and seemingly cut from the same cloth as Booksmart or Superbad. As we see in the official red band trailer dropped by Hulu on Tuesday, Big Time Adolescence follows Mo (Gluck), a 16-year-old who is taken under the wing of his sister’s ex-boyfriend, Zeke (Davidson). Zeke is a bit of a scumbum but outwardly, he seems warm and well-meaning; what’s not to love. As is the case with these kinds of tales, though, the veneer of Zeke’s seemingly super-chill, very relaxed and cool lifestyle wears thin as Mo sees that Zeke maybe needs to do some growing up of his own. The trailer makes is very clear some wacky adventures will be had, including Mo impulsively getting a “Tongue Daddy” tattoo and chugging maybe the grossest cocktail known to mankind. In addition to Gluck and Davidson, Big Time Adolescence stars Colson Baker, a. k. a. Machine Gun Kelly (Davidson’s previous co-star in the actually very bad Netflix Motley Crüe biopic The Dirt), Jon Cryer, Sydney Sweeney ( Euphoria), and Emily Arlook ( grown-ish). Big Time Adolescence will open in select theaters before heading to Hulu one week later. Big Time Adolescence arrives in select theaters on March 13 and debuts on Hulu on March 20.
